I really love your view on body building, not just in this video, but from what I see, nearly every video. Especially the line: “I’m not saying this is the ONLY way to do this, or to do that”. I think it’s a very important line for anyone. Gives them confidence to not only trust you, but to trust themselves when it comes to body building. It puts a positive attitude in their mind and effectively will improve their results dramatically.

Your work is awesome, keep it up :)

Oh also one more thing… it’s just something I heard watching “The Biggest Loser” a few years back, regarding carbohydrates. They trainser said yes, brown bread is a lot better than white, however when regarding rice, white rice is better than brown. I’m not really sure if this is true, and it was a few years ago when I heard it so memory could be rusty, but I’m fairly sure that’s what he said. I dont think I’d every disagree with you Baz, but just thought you’d be interested!

@HyuugaLukas – Yes they are high in GI. I have them with baked with tuna. Baz

  5. BazBlog says:

@Tautologically – I have learned that there are so many ways to train and they all work for the person that believes they will work. If they did not they would never have been invented. I really do believe you must do what you believe will work. Yes you are right you have to trust your own judgement. Thanks very much for the compliment and your great support. Baz

  6. BazBlog says:

@Tautologically – yes that is very interesting. I have always believed that processed food. i.e. white rice even white sugar is not as good as brown. I would not argue the point but I guess i will stick with my old fashioned belief that brown is better than white. I think if you do what you believe to be right for your self you will get better results unless of course there is overwhelming proof that what you are doing is wrong. Baz.

High glycemic indexes do not cause insulin spikes?

Your voice and accent completely reminds me on the voice of Marlon Brando in the movie Mutiny on the Bounty.

  9. BazBlog says:

@HyuugaLukas – I am not sure what you are getting at. Baz

@dragonstyle88 – that is a cool compliment. he is quite a hero of mine. Baz

I like pineapple cottage cheese, its casein protein . I have never mixed cottage cheese and yogurt. Also try couscous its high in protein and good. Thanks for the tips.

  12. BazBlog says:

@Damnationization – that sounds like a great meal. There are lots of ways to eat and you must workout what you like best. Thanks for your ideas. Baz

hi baz im just wondering is casein protein good for you? because i heard it gives you cancer, i no your not a doctor but i just thought ill see if you know :) , btw do you take casien protein? thanks mate :)

  14. BloodRain2224 says:

Would it be ok to drink a protein shake for breakfast?

  15. BazBlog says:

@BloodRain2224 – Yes I often have a protein shake as a meal replacement. Baz

  16. BazBlog says:

@00bodybuilder00 – I understand it is one of those negative things that was published. I also understand there as a lot of criticism about the articles. This is what I believe. Casein (or any ingested protein) is NOT a carcinogen, whey appears to have anti-cancer functions. So milk does a body good, literally. I hope that helps you. Baz

  17. 00bodybuilder00 says:

@BazBlog thanks baz :) this has really helped me, i am going to carry on taking casein :)

  18. BazBlog says:

@00bodybuilder00 – sure and good luck with your training. Baz

Couple of points I have to disagree with.
    1) Not eating after training for an hour if you’re overweight – provided your diet is consistent this will make no difference to how much fat you lose.
    2) Cottage cheese – the protein in cottage cheese is casein protein, which promotes cancer formation, quite unlike whey protein for example which is anti-carcinogenic.
    3) You seem to leave out fats from your diet. Getting enough omega 3 and 6 is very very important for bodybuilding and general health.

  20. MrSmudger687 says:

    4) Tuna for protein – although tuna is a great source of lean protein it has a high mercury content so regularly eating tuna is not good for you at all.
    5) Sesame seed oil – nothing special about sesame seed oil when compared to sunflower oil. If anything sunflower oil is better as it has a higher percentage of omega 6.
    6) Protein shakes – often contaminated with heavy metals as they aren’t tightly regulated

Having said that, you’ve got a good physique and most of what you say is spot on

  21. BazBlog says:

@MrSmudger687 – Thanks for you comments. 1) Body for life has used this system for over 1 million people with amazing results. Incuding my own.
    2) There is conflicting information regarding casein causing cancer. Infact there is not actual proof. 3) Fat that I have spoken about in this is oils etc. i totally agree that you should take omega 3. Even Arnold along with a load of others say stay away from fats when you are training. What I have used has worked extremely well for me. Baz

  22. MrSmudger687 says:

Casein itself does not cause cancer I agree, but it increases the likelihood of tumour formation. Yes, Arnold may not have eaten much fat, but Arnold also took steroids. Most people do not get enough omega 3 in their diet, but it is important, especially for cardiovascular health. You can’t expect your muscles to grow as effectively as possible if they are deficient in essential fatty acids. Did you see my other 3 points? Otherwise it sounds like I’m just attacking you which is not my aim.

  23. BazBlog says:

@MrSmudger687 – thanks for all your information. I did not invent what I use but it certainly has worked well for me. I am sure if you feel uncomfortable with the points you make on food you are not using them. I am very happy with them however and so will continue doing what I have been doing. Baz

  24. Tautologically says:

Hey Baz if protein helps your body rebuild it’s muscles, and say I do not have access to the adequate amount of protein, but workout for only 3 days and have rest for the other 4, is this still effective in body building?

  25. BazBlog says:

@Tautologically – food is really important. You find that it is not all about protein shakes etc. Any poultry, meat, fish nuts etc are all protein and go to building up the muscles. If you check carefully you will probably find you are having enough protein. 1.5 gms max per kg bodyweight. You really do need the right amount to build. Baz
