Muscle Building?

I am trying to get more definition and thought about using Creatine. I know that makes your muscles hold water and I’m a woman…I hold enough water as it is.
Will it be affective? Should I use it?

Thanks!!!

Definitely do not use Creatine for muscle definition. Furthermore, use of Creatine requires a lot of water consumption else risk liver damage. If by "muscle definition" you mean to slim down, focus on your cardio-vascular exercises (i.e. running, aerobics). Meanwhile, augment your cardio workout w/ high rep weight training and proper dieting (i.e. moderate to low fat consumption).

I used Creatine, and it did have some minor benefit, but mostly its side effects were what I noticed — mood swings, water retention, etc. Plus, as soon as you stop taking it, any effects go away immediately. Personally I don’t recommend it.

Creatine not only holds water in your muscles but it works to refuel your muscles faster as well. Supposedly it helps your muscles repair faster shortening your down-time and increasing energy levels. I don’t think creatine is right for you however because most men take creatine to bulk up, not to get more lean. The thing is that most supplements aren’t proven to do anything they say so there is no guarantee on any results while using any supplements. If you are looking for more definition I suggest eating a well balanced diet, healthy small meals often and while weight training use lighter weights and do more repetitions. Aerobics also will help burn extra fat off making your muscles look more cut. Good luck getting lean and mean!
